Re-Wa-Ne is the only consistent nationally honored yearbook in the state of Nevada, earning Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Medals and All-Columbian Honors as well as National Scholastic Press Association First Place with marks of distinction and All-American awards for over a decade.
Advised by Master Journalism Educator Lizabeth Walsh since 2003, the Re-Wa-Ne yearbook staff strives to create an accurate historical record of the events of each school year in a visually interesting format.
Staff membership is determined by teacher recommendation, student academic performance in the previous school year, and student application and writing tryout. Students interested in joining yearbook staff are strongly encouraged to take "Introduction to Journalism" before applying for staff membership. Students are selected based on their work ethic, ability to maintain a high GPA, turn in work on time, and a wide variety of other high-performance indicators. Editorial board members are selected based on performance as a staff member, an application and interview process, and their ability to complete all assigned editorial activities.
Diapers to Diplomas spaces (those spaces in the back of the book with baby, family, and other pictures and messages from family members) are created early in the school year. Generally, deadlines fall in early September for discount pricing, late October for regular pricing, and early November for late fee pricing. Parents of seniors or early graduates are encouraged to complete these spaces as quickly as possible when school begins for best pricing.
Senior photos are taken by Lifetouch Photo Studios (775) 851-0444 80 East Patriot Blvd, Ste D (across the street from In-N-Out Burger on South Virginia and behind the Burger King). All senior portraits are taken there, free of charge for a standard sitting. Students may choose an extended photo appointment from this or any other photographer, but the standard yearbook photo for the senior section of the yearbook must be completed by Lifetouch no later than the last week of October each year to be included in the yearbook in alphabetical order with the class.
Underclass photos are taken by Lifetouch Photo Studios at school in September and makeup day is in October. Please watch your mail and student announcements for date information.
