I attended the University of Nevada for Secondary Education with a Major in Social Studies and a Minor in English. I then received a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada also.

Extracurricular activities:

I enjoy running, biking and coaching youth sports like baseball and basketball.

Why are you at RHS?:

I want to be a small part of continuing the rich tradition of excellence at Reno High School. My own children and nephews will be attending RHS in the future also.

I have ALWAYS been at RHS. I started my teaching career here, became the Dean of Students and then an Assistant Principal. I think this is the best school in the state of Nevada and would never want to be anywhere but here.

What a great opportunity. After 20 years in Elementary Schools, twelve as a school principal, my dream job came available. The opportunity to come to Reno High as an Assistant Principal. Although the bitter rival of my high school, Reno is known for its traditions of excellence in academics, activities, athletics. I knew the adminsitrative team was top of the line, that the staff was superior and second to none. Who wouldn't want to be a part of what we have at Reno High School and to have the opportunity to bring the most important thing to me to school with me everyday, my daughter, and hopefully soon, my son will make the choice to join the two of us as Huskies.

I travel as frequently as my budget will allow, look at art whenever possible, and sometimes even work as a paid photographer. I can practically quote Hamlet from memory. I love conversations revolving around philosophy, psychology, politics, music, or even reality tv (actually, I just love a good conversation). Though I'm an English teacher, I often gravitate toward artists and musicians. I love to play tennis (but rarely do) and eat chocolate chip cookies (which I do too often).

Barbra Whiteley, Librarian

As head librarian I manage the library services. I teach research, and am lucky enough to work with students and collaborate with teachers. I first started at RHS as an English teacher, so becoming a librarian seemed a natural extenion of that. I have always been impressed with the qualities of the hardworking students and staff here and am proud to be a part of Reno High.
